*Now accepting new clients
Starting therapy can be overwhelming and sometimes frightening, and I want to acknowledge the strength and bravery that it takes to try something new. I offer individual counseling for adults and adolescents (age 15+) with a wide range of presenting issues. I serve clients in-person in Mount Vernon and telehealth clients in Washington State.
I practice using an integrative approach pulling from different theoretical orientations to meet each client’s needs including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT, attachment and developmental theories, and relational psychodynamic therapy.
As your therapist, I work hard alongside you to release you from patterns that no longer serve you and develop new ways of viewing and responding to life’s problems. With humor and teamwork, I aim to empower you to live your life aligned with your values to make meaningful change. I welcome a diverse clientele as I feel that our differences are often our greatest assets. All are welcome and safe here. I look forward to the prospect of walking alongside you on your journey towards a rich and meaningful life.
About Josh:
I show up as my authentic self with clients and I’m passionate about this work. I bring humor, creativity, and fun into therapy. After all, being a human is hard work, and we deserve to have some fun along the way. I’m an avid outdoorsperson, a cascade-crawling mushroom hunter, and hiker. I love to cook, eat, and have adventures indoors and out.

*Accepting new clients now!
I am a licensed counselor working with adults and adolescents (ages 13+) offering individual counseling, couples counseling, and parent coaching. Starting counseling can sometimes feel overwhelming and scary, and I recognize that it takes a lot of courage to try something new. I view counseling as a collaborative process where we work together to explore and discover new ways to relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us. This starts with building a relationship of trust together. Listening to both the body and the mind, I take an interest in your interpersonal experiences and the larger systems that impact them believing we are often harmed, healed, and transformed through our relationships.
Using an integrative approach to fit each client, I incorporate many theories and modalities in my practice including relational psychodynamic theories, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and developmental and attachment theories. However, research shows that the most significant agent of change in counseling is an authentic relationship between the client and counselor. This is why I will always strive to show up genuinely with you and attune to your lived experiences, needs, goals, and hopes. In knowing oneself more fully we develop the capacity for meaningful change. I’m here to work alongside you on that journey and look forward to the prospect of partnering with you and seeing if we are a good fit!
About Emily:
Before becoming a counselor, I spent 6 years as an elementary school teacher and loved working with students and their families. My classroom ran on strong relationships, humor, and a dash of controlled chaos, all of which have translated into my work as a counselor. A bookworm who thrives on rainy days, you can often find me curled up with a cup of tea and a book. I also have a deep love for the Pacific Northwest and love spending time in the many beautiful places that Washington offers.
